Product Description
Excellent clarity of the triplet glass lens (three lenses in a single shell) is a top feature of this quality loupe, but it also has features that will provide convenience and security. If you need a quality 30x loupe for a reasonable price, this is it. If you've never used a loupe of this power, you may wish to know that the viewing distance is very short between the loupe and the eye as well as between the loupe and the object viewed. The center of the loupe is the viewing area.

5 out of 5 stars Great Loupe , can't beat the price   August 25, 2010

Took me a little while to figure out the correct focal lengths, but after that, this thing is great! Great magnification, solid build construction, and even the leather case, makes this a great purchase. I recommend getting this if your looking for a loupe or considering the 30x pocket microscope.

First of all, this order was placed on August 5th and was in my mailbox on the 9th!!
This is from Ca. to Al. Incredible!!! This is a very high quality loupe that I would have expected to pay much more for. Amazon also pitched in free shipping. No more need for diamond knowledge or quality, buy one of these and see for yourself what your getting; and plus, a jeweler can't pull the old switch-a-roo on the stone while your jewelry piece is in for repair, sizing, etc. You will always know "your" stone by it's unique birth mark(s). Great deal!

This loupe really gives you 30x magnifying power. The product is very strong, well-made, and look & feel like a professional-grade equipment for jewelers. I definitely recommend this loupe to anyone who needs one to look for inclusions in diamonds.

I was happy with my loupe, but found one I prefer so I gave mine to a young man who grows his own crystals. He is very happy!! Don't really know why I didn't care for the loupe purchased on amazon. Perhaps it might be my lack of knowledge of how to use one. Thank you for asking.

5 out of 5 stars Great tool for the inquisitive   May 24, 2010

I bought this item because I started looking through my old coins for any valuable coins, and sometimes you need to magnify the coin in order to tell if you really have a coin worth money. The optics are great, although I'm still getting used to just how close you need to hold it to the object, but I am slowly getting more and more used to it.

I also have been able to view the edges on my chisel set to see how I need to grind them better.

Like others have stated, it would be nice if there were a light on this item, but for 12 bucks, I'll use a desk lamp instead.

As a little side-note, I used my cell phone camera with this loupe and was able to capture a decent picture of something at magnification. With a little Macgyver-action, I should be able to possibly set up a webcam to use as a handy way to easily look through my coin collection!

I would recommend this product to anyone who is curious about how things look under magnification!
