I purchased 2 Bodum replacement filters online through Amazon.com at the end of June 2010. Received them within a week or so, but they were the wrong size. I promptly emailed Coffee & Filters Direct. Ron who works there replied in less than 24 hours. I mailed the filters back to them, indicating the size of the carafe. They mailed me the new filters with a cheque to cover my postage cost... the cheque was a surprise!

These filters tend to build up a residue that is difficult to clean after use and I change mine out about once a year or so.

Aside from having to pay more than double the cost of the item to ship it (when it weighs not much more then a post card!) It advertised that it fit all 8 cup french presses, not the case, it let alot of grains through my press. So if you dont own a bodum press BEWARE! After paying nearly 15 dollars after shipping (and in my case having it not work) I realized I could buy a whole new 8 cup french press by Bodum from target for 18.99 So take that into consideration before buying just a screen!

Everyone who loves French Press coffee, who uses a Bodum press or as I do, uses the Thermos Nissan Insulated Coffee Press (34 oz.) is going to need a replacement filter Mesh sooner or later...I need one. I think the price (about $4.00 USD) for the specialized filter mesh is reasonable. I object to paying from around $6.00 to more than $9.00 just to ship it. The filter cannot weigh more than one ounce so I have to wonder why it should be so pricey to ship or mail this item. I'll search further on the Internet, and if I have to come back to Amazon to purchase the filter...so be it. At that point, I'll grit my teeth, place my order and pay the ridiculously high shipping fee. After all, I do need a replacement filter.
