| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description When you require exact measuring, you reach for a caliper. But an accurate measurement is meaningless if you can't read it accurately. This caliper takes an essential tool into the 21st century with an extra-large LCD digital readout for exact internal and outside measurements accurate to .001". Instantly converts from SAE or Metric, the display can be zeroed at any point on the slide. Machine-grooved thumb-roll mechanism and position lock for sure adjustment. Hardened stainless steel shaft with depth-measurement probe, precision ground jaws. On-off switch with auto-off, two long-life batteries included (one spare).

affordable caliper August 22, 2010 steve bought this because of inexspensive price. came in the mail when promised, very happy with it no problems well worth the money. would purchase again, when time arises. it has everything i was looking for the fraction feature is very nice. simalar calipers are at least $30.00 or higher. will definatley buy from this dealer again.
Doesn't Work April 9, 2010 Abhi (Boston, MA) This is a bad product. The device needs recalibration at every stage and even then refuses to give an accurate reading. I am going back to the classic vernier caliper.
Prudy them good March 16, 2010 Luc Belec (Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use as much a caliper as I do use utensils when I'm eating. It's an extension of my hand. I only get the best (certify Mitutoyo) and I paid for the last one well over 450$ on special. Of Corse it's the have-it all with printer capacity coolant proof and solar power... Well I thought giving a shot to this 8" for 20$. I did carry around my first digital as much as my wallet (they are in the same pocket anyway) and it's getting old (I got it 25 years ago) I have this caliper for a day now. Well I did test it and I would say I'm impress.
Out of the box, un-adjusted, not calibrated or certify I do get the same read-out of different condition and length and it give the same variation or derivation as my fancy one. Mean inside of 8 1/8" I will have a measurement with in .0015" .0030"TTR for 20$. Wow, in't bad... I have friend who use these POC from china and I always smile. Well may be not that much any-more. No it's not certified and calibrated one but does the work. It's very likely will not last 25y but tomorrow I will have this one in my pocket because the display is twice as big...
Pro
-large display, good large angle of view
-fast dimensions acquisitions
-convert SI to inches in a flash
-Easy to zero and keep-it
-battery saver and come back fast and keep the accuracy
-good positive lock (doesn't change the nominal dimension)
-Has the same size and capacity as the "good price one"
-You drop-it or bad thing happened to it, you can afford to have a couple spare one...
Con
-Ruff and sharp, does feel flimsy
-Material quality (not as good as a 250$ basic expensive one)
-no memory
-no printer capacity LOL!!!
-the 4 point of measurement are not 100% associated (can increase the TTR to .005") mean, if you look at a shaft 6.124", the hole can read 6.126" and won't fit because they are both 6.125". If you don't mind at all a thousand, you are in business. Any way if you need to see thousand, you need to read a ten of a thousand mean 1000$ more expensive toys.
I will re-comment, if: The coolant disrupt-it, the battery doesn't last, lost it accuracy, the materiel degrades or gets damage too easily. But for a tool box precision tool, it's very good. Especially if .005" mean not much for you and .0010" dispersion is Ok. NB.: if I need a read-out with in of .0010" I will not trust my Mitutoyo anyway.
Excellent considering the low cost February 19, 2010 John M. Godden No big issues with this caliper. Zero's OK and is reasonably good quality. Excellent, considering how cheap it is.
Great Product December 28, 2009 J. Mireles (El Paso, Texas) I got this for my hobby as a carpenter and it works great. It converts from inches to mm and has a smooth feel and finish, including a very handy carrying case. I have had no problems with this product so far.
